Diwali
Diwali or deepavali is a very important or rather much awaited festival of hindu religion....
Every hindu person has font memories of the diwali celebrations of childhood.
In my memories diwali has colors lights and smells of goodies made by my mother specially for diwali...
Chakli, karanji, shankarpale, anarse , chivda and above all various types of ladoos are made in maharashtrian households....
I as a young girl , used to be around my mom , watching her make all these delicious things. trying to help her in every way I could... and learning the process... It was a ceremony by itself.... after preparing each and every dish it was to be offered to God who made it available to us.... the thought was so nice... to always remember God ....
Now I am a grown up woman... I too used to make all the goodies for my family... But my children feel why does mom spends so much energy making them all by herself? when all these things are easily available in the market....
They are right in their own way... they are concerned about me and it feels very nice... But what they dont realize is making the sweets for them gives me the pleasure that I miss.
In today's lifestyle people do not want emotional involvement in anything... the world has become so practical which is good in a way but it is making people cold, insensitive which is frightening....
May this auspicious Diwali brings everybody close to their dear ones and teach them to be more sensitive towards life....
